The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allowed 100% reservation of medical workers of state and municipal institutions, as well as prosecutors of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The decree amends the Procedure for Reservation of Persons Liable for Military Service for the Period of Mobilisation and Wartime. A new paragraph of the document provides for a postponement of mobilisation for medical workers working in:
- state-owned and municipally owned healthcare facilities
- blood centres
- public health institutions
- institutions that conduct forensic medical and forensic psychiatric examinations
These facilities must be the main place of work for employees to be subject to booking. The Ministry of Health says that the changes apply only to medical workers. The booking restrictions will apply to all other professionals working in healthcare facilities.
Previously, medical institutions that were recognised as critical could book up to 50% of men. ‘Booking 100% of medical staff eliminates the need to apply for separate permits, which reduces the burden on both hospitals and the Ministry of Defence,’ the Ministry of Health added.
