Since the beginning of 2025, approximately 98,000 young job seekers under the age of 35 have applied to the State Employment Service. 61,500 people have been granted unemployed status. At the same time, almost 39,000 young people, or about 40% of those who applied, are already employed.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of young people participating in training programmes, undergoing retraining, receiving vouchers or joining community work has increased. The largest number of young people were employed in the Dnipropetrovsk region — almost 3,600, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region — 3,400, and in the Lviv region — 2,800.
The number of those acquiring new professional skills has also increased. Since the beginning of the year, almost 9,000 people have undergone vocational training, which is 19% more than last year. The largest number of people took advantage of this opportunity in the Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions — about 900 people each, as well as in the Rivne region — almost 800.
Among the unemployed graduates of higher education institutions, of whom there are about 1,700 registered, 17% were immediately referred for retraining. The employment service emphasises that supporting young people remains one of its key areas of work.
