The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ukraine has received an order to suspend all projects and their funding. This was reported by Suspilne with reference to an employee of the organisation.
The order came after the US State Department ordered the suspension of aid programmes to other countries for 90 days to conduct an audit. However, it is not yet known how this decision will be implemented and whether there will be any exceptions.
USAID in Ukraine is supporting the rebuilding of schools, the provision of medical services, and the repair of the critical energy system.
At the same time, Ukrainian organisations have already reported receiving letters of suspension from USAID-funded projects. For example, the Veteran Hub was forced to close its veterans’ support line and hub in Vinnytsia and is now seeking funding from the business community.
