Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that this year it is planned to open the National Military Memorial Cemetery, where honorary burials will be held.
The draft law was prepared by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. It stipulates that the reburial of fallen soldiers will be carried out in specially designated sectors for honorary burials. Honorary burials will be funded from the local budget of the territorial community at the last registered place of residence of the deceased person.
This decision is aimed at ensuring that the memory of Ukraine’s defenders, who gave their lives for the country’s freedom and independence, is honoured with dignity.
