In 2024, the Ukrainian state compensated employers for the costs of equipping workplaces for almost 2,000 people with disabilities by investing UAH 129 million. This was announced by Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

The programme, launched in August 2023, aims to support businesses in creating comfortable and inclusive working conditions. According to Yulia Svyrydenko, more than 1,500 entrepreneurs have taken the opportunity to purchase special furniture, equipment, lifts, and ramps. Employers in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk regions and the city of Kyiv received the largest compensation. The average amount of compensation was UAH 69 thousand.
To receive compensation, employers submit applications on the Diia portal or through employment centres. Starting from 2025, the amount of compensation will be up to UAH 120,000 for people with Group I disabilities and up to UAH 80,000 for Group II.
This programme is part of the flagship project ‘Work without Barriers’ and contributes to the creation of a barrier-free space in Ukraine.
