The new law provides for several important innovations:
- Recognition of the results of students’ volunteer activities as a practice if it corresponds to their field of study.
- Issuance of official documents confirming participation in volunteer activities.
- Taking into account volunteer experience when applying to educational institutions through motivation letters.
- Obligation of educational institution managers to support volunteer initiatives and engage students in volunteering.
‘Volunteering is not only free assistance, it is the development of responsibility for the future of your country from childhood,’ said Serhiy Babak, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Education Committee.
