UNICEF Ukraine, together with the Government of Norway, will provide UAH 290,500 to each of 100 Ukrainian schools to help them prepare for the winter period.
The funds will be used to modernise educational facilities, including insulation of premises, replacement of windows and doors, repair or purchase of heat generating units, and upgrade of engineering networks. In addition, funding is provided for the repair of school canteens as part of the catering reform.

‘This financial support will help schools to better prepare for the winter season and thus ensure uninterrupted learning for students. Our goal is to bring a sense of stability and normalcy to schoolchildren through access to education, while at the same time enabling schools to use the cash grants for their specific needs related to the challenges of winter, UNICEF Ukraine said.
Support for schools has become especially important in the context of the war, when Ukrainian educational institutions are operating in difficult circumstances but continue to provide children with access to quality education.
