Due to the damage to the power grid caused by Russian shelling, Ukrainians are facing massive power cuts. To help people overcome this difficult period, the Government has decided to provide additional support.
In particular, families that have been consuming less energy due to the power outage will be able to receive subsidies and benefits for housing and utility bills in full. In addition, if a family has purchased a generator worth up to UAH 150,000 or has taken out a loan for this amount, this will not affect the subsidy.
‘We understand that Ukrainians are going through difficult times. That is why the Government is taking all possible measures to support them. Thanks to these changes, people will be able to preserve their social guarantees even in the face of the energy crisis,’ said Daria Marchak, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine has automatically recalculated the amount of housing subsidies with the start of the heating season. In addition, utility subsidies are provided for military personnel and other eligible categories of citizens.
