In response to the consequences of the war and to help both military and civilian victims, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is actively working on the creation of centers for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain. These centers will be located in various cities across the country and will provide comprehensive care for patients who have suffered war-related injuries.

Today, a training program for medical professionals working in these new centers has begun at the Feofaniya Clinical Hospital. The training program is one of the first steps in establishing a network of specialized pain treatment centers across Ukraine.
“Team teaching team” approach
The first group to undergo this training consists of medical staff from the Vinnytsia Regional Hospital, which is also one of the leaders in pain management in Ukraine. The program follows the “team teaching team” principle, allowing specialists to pass on their knowledge and experience to one another, creating a strong network of professionals throughout the country.
Feofaniya hospital as an expert training center
Feofaniya Clinical Hospital was chosen as the expert center for training specialists from across Ukraine due to its significant experience in providing care to patients with various types of pain. The hospital is one of the leading medical facilities in Ukraine in the field of pain management, thanks to its multidisciplinary approach and highly qualified specialists.
Feofaniya employs neurologists, therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and physical therapists. Additionally, patients are consulted by neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and traumatologists, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
Multidisciplinary approach to pain treatment
The uniqueness of the approach used at Feofaniya lies in its multidisciplinary treatment of pain. This means that patients receive comprehensive care from various specialists, not only addressing the pain but also working to restore their physical and psychological well-being. Collaboration among different medical professionals ensures a holistic treatment approach, which is particularly important for patients who have suffered serious injuries due to the war.
Prospects for developing the network of centers
The training program for medical professionals is just the initial stage of this large-scale project. In the future, it is planned to create a network of centers throughout Ukraine that will provide specialized care for patients. These centers will offer targeted treatment for people suffering from pain, regardless of its cause—whether it is from combat injuries, chronic diseases, or other factors.
The implementation of this initiative will significantly improve the quality of medical care for patients who have experienced war-related trauma and will contribute to their swift recovery and reintegration into normal life.
