Here’s a reminder of the validity period of e-prescriptions based on the type of medication:
- 10 calendar days — for narcotic medications;
- 30 calendar days — for medications under the reimbursement program (“Affordable Medicines”);
- 90 calendar days — for prescription medications that the patient purchases out of pocket.
It is important to note that the validity period starts counting from the date the electronic prescription is created, that is, when the doctor signs it electronically. Therefore, there is more than enough time to obtain the required medications at the nearest pharmacy.
