The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has updated the register of medicines and medical devices under the reimbursement program. A total of 589 trade names of medicines and devices have been included in the program, 208 of which are available for free.

The program has been expanded to include new treatments for mental disorders, as well as fentanyl patches for pain relief and palliative care.

The “Affordable medicines” program includes:
- 241 drugs for cardiovascular diseases
- 110 drugs for mental and behavioral disorders, epilepsy
- 31 drugs for chronic respiratory diseases
- 7 medications for Parkinson’s disease
- 55 medications for patients with type II diabetes
- 4 medications for diabetes insipidus
- 63 types of insulin
- 45 medical devices for self-monitoring of blood sugar levels
- 25 medications for individuals in the post-transplant period
- 8 medications for pain relief and palliative care
Now even more patients will be able to receive vital medications for free or with partial reimbursement.
