Individuals with hearing and speech impairments can reach out to the 112 emergency service in case of emergencies. The Government Portal provides easy instructions for doing so.

Steps to Contact via Smartphone

  1. Send a Message: Text “Video Assistance” to the number 112.
  2. Await a Response: You will receive a reply with an active link for a video call.
  3. Initiate the Video Call: Click the link in the response. You will be prompted to grant access to your microphone and camera. Once permission is granted, you can communicate with the operator using sign language.

Calling Emergency Services

Additionally, individuals with hearing impairments can summon any emergency service by sending a single SMS to the free short number 112.
