The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution that regulates the registration of cars imported as humanitarian aid. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Bohdan Drapyaty.
Thus, when the resolution comes into force, it will be possible to
to carry out state registration of vehicles imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid (currently, only temporary state registration is possible with appropriate restrictions on the transfer and use of vehicles);
to allow vehicles registered with the temporary state registration to travel abroad for the transportation of humanitarian goods and other tasks (currently, such vehicles are prohibited from traveling abroad);
a clear mechanism for deregistering a vehicle in connection with the transfer of humanitarian aid by the recipient of humanitarian aid to the recipient of humanitarian aid, or the change of the recipient of humanitarian aid (currently, such a transfer is not possible);
cull (write off) vehicles that are temporarily registered in case of their destruction or unsuitability for further use (currently, culling of humanitarian vehicles is not provided for); a clear list of conditions and grounds for temporary registration of vehicles imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid has been introduced.
According to Bohdan Drapyatyi, the implementation of the resolution will ensure the full and effective use of vehicles imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid in accordance with their intended purpose.
