The Ministry of Social Policy has announced an open competitive selection process for the Children and Youth Office ‘DiyMO’. Ukrainians aged 14 to 35 who are active citizens and want to influence policy in the field of protecting the rights of children and young people, particularly those from vulnerable groups, are invited to participate.
The ‘DiyMO’ Office will function as an advisory body to the Ministry of Social Policy. Its task will be to ensure the participation of children and youth in the formation of state policy, to represent their interests in various working and advisory groups, and to develop proposals for improving decisions in the field of social protection. Special attention will be paid to the development of mentoring, support for family-based forms of upbringing, and the prevention of social orphanhood.

The Office will consist of 15 to 25 people. According to the selection rules, at least 40% of the participants must be young people who have experience of alternative care, in particular those who were raised in institutional care, foster families or family-type children’s homes. Another 40% of the composition must represent different regions of Ukraine, which will allow for a more balanced view of the problems and needs of young people in the country.
Applications can be submitted until 14 September 2025 inclusive. To do so, you must fill out a form and send it to the email address of the Ministry of Social Policy. Applications are accepted both in paper form and with an electronic signature. After analysing the documents and conducting interviews, the competition commission will compile a ranking of candidates, on the basis of which the final composition of the Office will be approved.
The results of the selection will be published on the Ministry’s website. For further information, participants can contact the Directorate for the Protection of Children’s Rights. The ‘DiyMO’ Office is intended to be a platform where children and young people can express their views and influence government decisions that directly affect their lives and future.
