A large group of children and two young people have been returned from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as part of the President’s initiative, Bring Kids Back UA, with support from the Save Ukraine team. This was reported by Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President.
The children, who were previously forced to attend Russian schools and participate in propaganda activities, are now back in Ukrainian territory with their families. According to Bring Kids Back UA, a 16-year-old boy was forcibly sent to a military camp in Volgograd, where he was made to wear a uniform, practice shooting, and undergo “training.” He was scheduled for mobilization into the Russian army this year. Other children lived under constant threat of repression and coercion to attend Russian schools.
Two additional teenagers, who were also at risk of mobilization, were rescued thanks to the joint efforts of the Ukrainian Network for Children’s Rights and the volunteer initiative Humanity.
According to Andriy Yermak, all returned children and teenagers are now safe and reunited with their families on Ukrainian territory.
