In Ukraine, surgery was performed on a soldier who lost 15 teeth due to a mine-blast injury. The restoration was important for restoring his natural smile and ability to chew normally.
Surgeons used a tissue regeneration method, combining bone grafting with special implants. The patient’s own blood was used as a basis: after centrifugation, a fraction rich in platelets and growth factors was isolated. It was mixed with bone-plastic material and injected into the defect area. This approach accelerates healing and stimulates the formation of new cells and tissues.
This operation was the first stage of treatment. Next, the patient will have an orthopaedic structure fitted, which will help restore full tooth function and confidence in everyday life.
