Grants for demining technologies

Ukraine has announced the Innovation for Humanitarian Demining competition, which aims to support Ukrainian start-ups and research teams working on humanitarian demining technologies. The event is organised by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in partnership with the UK government, Sikorsky Challenge, UK Ukraine TechBridge, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and Kyiv Polytechnic Science Park.

The winners of the competition will receive financial support to develop their solutions. Three teams will share a grant fund of £3,000, £2,000 and £1,000. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to establish partnerships with British companies, receive mentoring support and collaborate with leading experts and demining operators.

Startups and scientific teams with ready-made developments or concepts in the field of creating drones and robotic systems for detecting and neutralising explosive objects, autonomous platforms for clearing territories, interactive maps and real-time demining management systems are invited to participate.

The final of the competition is scheduled for 30 September in a mixed format at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Registration is open until 22 September.
