Red Cross volunteers provide aid in Sumy and Odesa after night attacks

On the night of 22 July, volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response teams worked in Sumy and Odesa, in the areas affected by the shelling.

In Sumy, the volunteers provided first aid and psychological assistance to the victims. They also organised the distribution of OSB boards, tarpaulins and drinking water. They worked together with the emergency services.

According to the State Emergency Service, on 21 July in the evening, the city was hit by guided aerial bombs. Three people were injured, including a child. A total of 12 people sought help. Five apartment buildings, 18 cars and a shopping centre were damaged.

In Odesa, volunteers from the Red Cross Rapid Response Unit quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.

According to the State Emergency Service, the attack caused a fire in the car park, with cars on fire. Windows in the high-rise building were smashed and a shop was damaged. One person was injured.
