The programme provides a one-time grant of €5,000 for individual or collective projects. These are primarily research, artistic and documentary initiatives that help to understand and record contemporary Ukrainian history, particularly for the international community.
Both new applicants and those who have already received support from Documenting Ukraine are eligible to participate. In the latter case, a brief report on the progress of the previous project and its results must be provided.
Applicants must submit a CV, a letter of motivation, a project description and the contact details of a person who can provide a recommendation. All documents should be combined into a single PDF file.
Detailed information on the conditions of participation is available in Ukrainian and English on the IWM website. For further questions, the organisers advise contacting them by email: ukraine@iwm.at.
The results of the competition will be announced in early November 2025.
