The Ministry of Education and Science has updated the scale for converting foreign grades

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in cooperation with the State Enterprise “Information and Image Centre,” has updated and expanded the scale for correlating foreign assessment systems with the Ukrainian 12-point system. The innovation aims to simplify the process of recognising the learning outcomes of children who have been educated abroad and are returning to Ukrainian schools.

Educational institutions now have clear instructions on how to convert grades from foreign documents to the scale used in Ukraine. This eliminates the risk of subjectivity, reduces the need for re-evaluation, and facilitates the integration of students into the educational process without additional barriers.

The scale is used not only when enrolling students in Ukrainian schools after their return, but also as part of the Ukrainian studies component, if certain subjects were taught in two educational systems in parallel. In other words, learning outcomes abroad can be credited without losing the substance of the assessment.
