Cultural institutions in Europe — from philharmonic halls to contemporary art centres — are currently facing challenges that require new solutions. Digitalisation, global social changes and reduced funding are forcing them to seek innovative formats for interacting with the public. The European Award 2025 responds to these challenges by offering up to €50,000 for cultural initiatives that have the potential to be scaled up across Europe.

The organisers — the Art Explora Foundation in partnership with the Académie des beaux-arts — aim to support non-profit cultural institutions that are experimenting with ways to attract new audiences to art and culture. Both individual organisations and partnerships between several institutions can participate.
Organisations registered in Ukraine, EU countries, the United Kingdom, as well as in the Western Balkans and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries are eligible to apply. The main requirement is non-profit status and a clear focus on cultural activities.
The deadline for applications is 9 July 2025 at 12:59 p.m. Kyiv time.
This is an opportunity not only to receive funding, but also to become part of a European network of innovative cultural projects that are shaping the future of art.
