The Ministry of Defence launches the Wounded Warrior Package project for wounded servicemen

For the first time, Ukraine is introducing a centralised programme to provide wounded servicemen with a so-called “wounded soldier’s package”. The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Defence’s procurement agency, the State Logistics Operator (SLO). The package will include adaptive clothing and personal hygiene products that will be provided to each soldier after evacuation.

The procurement will start with a summer set of clothes. The total value of the first tender is about UAH 170 million. Deliveries are expected in the second half of 2025 and will be distributed among four joint supply centres. In the future, we also plan to centrally procure hygiene kits after the technical requirements are approved.

“This project is about dignity and care. “The Wounded Warrior Package should become a standard of human treatment for everyone who defends the state,” said Oleksandr Osadchyi, Acting Director of the Procurement Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The clothing will be provided individually, taking into account the condition of the wounded. The summer set includes T-shirts, short and long sleeved shirts, shorts, trousers and socks. The hygiene kit will include basic care products, including a towel, gel, shampoo, napkins, toothbrush and more. The programme covers all components of the Defence Forces, including units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other security forces.
