The forced evacuation of children from the frontline villages of Mezhivska and Novopavlivska communities in the Synelnykivskyi district of Dnipro region has begun. The decision was made after a long period of voluntary evacuation, when some residents had already agreed to relocate. In total, nearly 400 children have been moved to safer regions over the past few months.
Currently, 26 more children remain in the dangerous areas. Their families, including the IDPs, have been hesitant to move for a long time, hoping that the shelling would bypass their villages. However, the situation on the frontline has escalated: Russian troops are actively shelling these areas with bombs and drones. This forced the regional evacuation commission to decide to forcibly evacuate the children together with their parents or legal representatives.

Rescuers, police, military, doctors and humanitarian organizations are involved in coordinating the evacuation process. The evacuation will last for a month. Families are free to choose a region for temporary residence, either within or outside the Dnipropetrovs’k region. All evacuees will receive social benefits provided by the state. Charitable organizations will also assist in the transportation process, and resettlement options have already been prepared.
According to the local authorities, the decision to evacuate is a necessary step to save children’s lives in the face of daily threats.
