In the first quarter of 2025, more than 90,000 rehabilitation equipment worth more than UAH 1 billion was issued in Ukraine. These aids were provided to 27 thousand people with disabilities. The largest number of rehabilitation aids were issued in Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Lviv, Kharkiv and Vinnytsia regions.
According to Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy, the reform has opened up the market so that Ukrainians can choose the best options from manufacturers at public expense. Today, there are more than 100 companies that provide people with modern prosthetics and other rehabilitation equipment.

Since January 1, 2025, Ukraine has had a new system for assessing the needs of people with disabilities, replacing the outdated medical and social expert commission. This system allows people to receive the necessary support in a timely manner, simplifying processes and reducing bureaucracy. An important step was the creation of an online service for submitting applications through the Social Portal of the Ministry of Social Policy, which became available thanks to the support of the EGAP Program.
According to statistics, most applications at the local level are processed promptly, and 74% of applications for rehabilitation are submitted through social protection agencies.
