Ukrainians residing in the Czech Republic with temporary protection status have the opportunity to apply for a five-year long-term residence permit. This can be done until 30 April 2025 exclusively online through the portal of the Czech Ministry of the Interior.
The residence permit was introduced as part of the Lex Ukrajina 7 law and will be a transitional step before obtaining a permanent residence permit. Children under the age of 18 can be included in the application together with their parents.

In order to obtain such a permit, you must meet several criteria, including at least two years of protected residence, proof of a stable income (for 2024 — at least CZK 440 thousand, plus CZK 110 thousand for each family member), registered accommodation, no criminal record, continuous health insurance without debts. Also, the fact that the applicant did not receive humanitarian aid between 1 October 2024 and 31 March 2024. 2025. Children aged 6 to 14 must be attending school.
Each adult family member must submit a separate application. If the whole family is applying, one of the spouses can create a ‘family request’ and invite other members to join them in the system. The registration and tax numbers are also required.
After five years of continuous residence under this residence permit, Ukrainians will be able to apply for permanent residence in the Czech Republic.
