Pope Francis, who continues to undergo treatment after a recent deterioration in his health, has called on the faithful to pray for peace in the world. He noted that war seems even more absurd when you watch it from a hospital room.
The pontiff specifically mentioned countries suffering from armed conflicts, including Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan and Kivu. He expressed his gratitude to the faithful for their prayers and support in this difficult time, as well as to the doctors and medical staff of Gemelli University Hospital for their care.
Francis emphasised that illness helps you to trust God even more and to feel united with those who are experiencing pain and suffering. He assured that he also prays for all believers, expressing gratitude for their love and closeness.
