Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy, stressed that the new law opens up real opportunities for people with disabilities in the open labour market and provides comprehensive support from both employers and the state.
The law expands employment opportunities for people with disabilities, in particular in state and local authorities, and guarantees the provision of social support services in the workplace. For the first time, it provides for a mechanism of personal support, including the services of an assistant or sign language interpreter.
In addition, the law introduces a system of targeted contributions to the fund to support the employment of people with disabilities. This will become an alternative to administrative fines for companies that do not comply with the standards for the employment of this category of citizens.
