On 28 January 2025, the International Ukrainian School (IUS) opened a new building for its high school in Vilnius and launched the School of Arts project. The event brought together representatives of the Ukrainian community in Lithuania, diplomats, educators and local officials.
The event was attended by Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta, IUS Director Olena Vnukovska, Seimas deputy Arturas Zuokas, rector of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Vilnius Father Josaphat. Also, present were heads of school branches in Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, and Panevezys.

‘The School of Arts is designed to develop the creative abilities of both children and adults. It will offer educational programmes in various areas of art, promoting cultural exchange and preserving Ukrainian identity.
Ambassador of Ukraine Petro Beshta thanked the Lithuanian government and community for their support in creating comfortable conditions for Ukrainian children to learn. Olena Vnukovska, the school’s principal, was thanked for her contribution to the development of Ukrainian education in Lithuania.
The opening of the new school building and art platform is another step in supporting Ukrainian education abroad. It allows preserving the Ukrainian language and culture while integrating them into the multinational context of Lithuania.
