On August 26, Kyiv inaugurated the “Human Titans” prosthetics center, operating within one of the city’s hospitals. The facility will specialize in advanced prosthetics and rehabilitation for wounded military personnel and civilians who have lost limbs. The opening was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The idea for the center emerged during a visit by a Ukrainian delegation to Berlin nearly two years ago, when Ukrainian defenders underwent rehabilitation at the Bundeswehr Military Hospital. The project was realized with support from Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner, the Life Bridge Ukraine charitable organization, and ONUR GROUP Ukraine.
ONUR GROUP funded over 29 million hryvnias for the facility’s major renovations, with an additional 11.2 million hryvnias provided by the city budget, while Life Bridge Ukraine supplied the equipment. The center is equipped with modern technologies, including a 3D scanner for precision prosthetic components.
During the trial period, ten veterans from various regions of Ukraine received prosthetic services. Six prosthetic technicians completed training in Berlin, and around 60 Ukrainian military personnel with amputations have already undergone prosthetic fitting at the Bundeswehr military hospital.
The new center aims to provide effective rehabilitation and support for wounded Ukrainians, helping them return to active life with the help of advanced technology and international expertise.
