Author and approach
The author of the study is Vitaliy Khromets, Doctor of Philosophy, associate expert at the UIF, also known as the author of a series of books on global pedagogical thought. In his work, he seeks not to refute previous approaches, but to integrate the most valuable aspects of the past, present and future. The concept does not propose a revolutionary break, but is built as an evolutionary synthesis that takes into account contemporary challenges and Ukraine’s rich educational heritage.
What makes this concept unique
“Different Education” is Ukraine’s first systematic description of educational reality at the conceptual level. The document integrates five key stages in the development of Western education — from monastic schools to modern networked universities. The author emphasises that the concept is instrumental: it can be implemented both at the level of an individual kindergarten or school and at the national level.
Education during wartime and post-war development
The document pays particular attention to issues of education during wartime and the recovery period. The authors consider reforming the educational space to be an important element of Ukraine’s vision for the future, which should contribute to the development of the nation’s innovative potential and strengthen its competitiveness on the world stage.
