The United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine, in partnership with the Government of Japan, has announced the launch of a new grant competition aimed at improving the mental health of Ukrainians affected by the war. The initiative provides support for projects that use digital and innovative solutions to provide psychological assistance.
The grant is targeted at internally displaced persons, veterans, and Ukrainians living abroad who need psycho-emotional support. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until 7 July 2025, and projects are planned to be implemented both in Ukraine and in countries that host Ukrainian refugees.
The key areas include free individual and group psychological assistance, comprehensive support with the possibility of referral to other specialists, as well as psycho-educational campaigns that will help reduce the stigma of seeking help. It also includes research to help improve support practices, particularly for professionals working on hotlines and in crisis groups.
The grant is funded by the Government of Japan and is part of UNDP’s broader strategy to strengthen psychosocial support systems for Ukrainians during and after the war.
Detailed information on the terms of participation in the competition is available on the UNDP official website.
