According to him, at the beginning of the year, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law that lays the foundation for a modern mental health system in Ukraine in accordance with European standards. The law enshrined a cross-sectoral approach, according to which psychological assistance can be provided not only by healthcare institutions but also by other institutions, as provided for in the Paris Declaration.

Starting this year, basic psychosocial support is provided in more than 5,000 primary care clinics. Since the beginning of the year, about 130,000 patients have received such assistance. Mental health centres are already operating in 124 hospitals.

At the same time, training is continuing for first responders in other areas, such as education, banking and transport, so that they can provide basic support to those who need it.
