UCEQA reports that fake bots are stealing personal data of NMT participants

The Ukrainian segment of social media and messengers has been flooded with reports of a bot that can allegedly provide reliable information about the date and place of the National Multiple Subject Test (NMT). To do this, users are asked to enter personal data, such as name, surname, address, and other sensitive information.

The Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA) warns NMT participants, as well as their parents and teachers, that this is a fraud. No third-party bot has access to information about the test.

‘By transferring your personal data to unknown services, you risk becoming a victim of phishing or other fraudulent schemes — up to and including identity theft,’ the UCEQA emphasises.

The Centre emphasised that information on the place and time of the NMT will be available exclusively in the participant’s personal account from 4 May.
