Applications for the grant programme supported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine have been extended until 9 February 2025. The programme, organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Union, aims to support Ukrainian farmers, increase the resilience of the agricultural sector and introduce sustainable production methods.

To date, 266 agricultural enterprises have applied for the programme. The programme offers grants to small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises engaged in various types of production, including berry growing, vegetable growing, aquaculture and dairy farming. The grants are provided in UAH at the UN exchange rate: up to UAH 416,500 for small agricultural producers and up to UAH 1,041,250 for micro and small enterprises, as well as agricultural cooperatives and associations of producers of products with geographical indications.
The programme is open to agricultural producers from five regions: Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and some districts of Dnipropetrovska oblast. Each region has its own priority areas of support. For example, in Lviv region, the emphasis is on berry growing and dairy production, while in Zakarpattia, producers of honey, wine and traditional cheeses will be supported. In addition to financial assistance, grantees will also receive consultations, technical advice and training.
