In 2025, the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile rehabilitation teams will start providing services in five more regions of Ukraine: Ternopil, Chernihiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia. This will bring professional rehabilitation assistance closer to people who need it most.
The mobile rehabilitation teams consist of physical therapists and assistants who provide services to people who need to recover from injuries, strokes, surgeries or other diseases that affect their mobility. The services are provided both at the patients’ homes and in specially equipped centres, such as the one in Mykolaiv.

Specialists assess the patient’s physical condition, develop individual rehabilitation programmes, conduct sessions and provide the necessary aids, such as walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, and others. They also provide advice on improving living conditions and psychosocial support to improve the emotional state of patients.
Currently, mobile rehabilitation teams operate in eight regions of Ukraine: Lviv, Volyn, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Poltava and Dnipro. Rehabilitation services can be provided by a doctor’s referral or independently through the Ukrainian Red Cross hotline.
