Ukraine aims to significantly reduce the gender pay gap by 2030, reducing it from 18.6% to 13.6%. This will be made possible by the new Labour Code developed by the Ministry of Economy. The Code provides for the modernisation of labour relations, including the introduction of eight different types of employment contracts. These include home-based, remote and seasonal work, which will give women more opportunities for flexible employment.

The key change is to enshrine equal pay for similar or equivalent work for women and men, which should help reduce gender discrimination in pay. In addition, the amendment will ensure equal rights for both parents to parental leave, which will allow them to combine their professional and parental responsibilities more effectively.
These changes will improve the competitiveness of women in the labour market and increase their ability to combine career and motherhood. In addition, the Code cancels unnecessary restrictions, such as the ban on business trips for pregnant women, which will also be a step towards creating more equal conditions for all employees.
