Ukraine presented its position at the meeting of the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations

The delegation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine took part in the 176th session of the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), which was held in Rome. During the event, Ukrainian representatives discussed with their colleagues the impact of Russian aggression on global food security and possible ways to overcome the consequences of this war.

The FAO Council, as the governing body of the organisation, adopted a number of decisions aimed at supporting Ukraine and ensuring the stability of the global agricultural sector. In particular, it stressed the need for

Particular attention was paid to the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy ‘Grain from Ukraine’, which is being implemented jointly with the World Food Programme. This project aims to provide food support to countries suffering from hunger.

FAO also pledged to cooperate with the Register of Losses for Ukraine and support investments in the restoration of Ukrainian agriculture.

The Ukrainian delegation stressed the importance of international support to overcome the crisis caused by the war and called for consolidation of efforts to maintain global food stability.
