The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to rename the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. This was announced by the government on 3 December.
The newly created ministry is headed by Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. He noted that the main task of the ministry will be to implement programmes aimed at returning Ukrainians who have moved abroad and strengthening the internal stability of the state.

During the presentation of the Internal Resilience Plan, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the need for active work with the Ukrainian diaspora. ‘We must create the conditions for our citizens who are temporarily abroad to return home and feel welcome here,’ Zelensky said.
Oleksiy Chernyshov promised to present a concrete plan for the development of the Ministry and its key areas of work in the near future.
