USAID helps Ukrainian utilities prepare for the 2024-2025 heating season

The USAID Energy Security Project is actively supporting Ukrainian utility companies to prepare for the 2024-2025 heating season. Through this program, critically important equipment is being delivered to Ukraine to ensure the uninterrupted operation of public services, even during power outages.

One of the key components of this support has been the provision of 63 diesel generators for water utilities in Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv regions. These generators will ensure the stable supply of essential services such as clean water and the proper functioning of sewage systems, even during power interruptions.

In partnership with Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure, USAID has also equipped water supply enterprises across the country with dispatch centers, automatic circuit breakers, pumps, switches, and 64 transformers. These investments help strengthen the energy stability of utility companies, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of services.

“Our goal is to ensure that Ukrainians have reliable access to critical infrastructure services, which is crucial during this challenging period,” said a USAID representative.

Thanks to this support, Ukrainian utilities are receiving additional resources to adapt to the challenges of the energy crisis, ensuring comfort and safety for Ukrainians, even amid wartime conditions and infrastructure issues.

USAID plans to continue working with Ukrainian authorities and enterprises to ensure energy security and the stable operation of critical infrastructure in the country.
