Top 5 services for idps from the employment service

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 100,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have benefited from the services of the Employment Service. As a result, many of them have found better jobs, gained new professions, started their own businesses, and received support throughout the adaptation process in their new locations. Here are the top 5 services offered by the Employment Service to IDPs:

The Employment Service assists IDPs in finding employment by individually selecting job openings based on their experience, education, and preferences. The service covers vacancies not only from its own database but also from the open labor market and partner websites. To take advantage of this service, one can visit the nearest employment center or register as unemployed through the Diya app or the Employment Service website.

2. Vocational training

To expand job market opportunities, the Employment Service offers free vocational training for officially registered unemployed individuals. The training is available in 97 different professions and approximately 400 educational programs. The courses are held at vocational education centers across the country, including in Rivne, Dnipro, Poltava, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv. Upon completion, participants receive a state-issued certificate.

3. Voucher training

IDPs who do not have unemployment status but already hold vocational or higher education can receive a voucher for training worth 30,000 UAH. These funds can be used for professional development or acquiring a new profession. The program offers 155 professions and specialties for training. Applications for vouchers can be submitted online via the Employment Service website or at the nearest employment center.

4. Grants for starting a business

The Employment Service supports the entrepreneurial initiatives of IDPs by offering grants for starting or expanding their own businesses. Grant amounts range from 50,000 to 250,000 UAH. IDPs with the status of combatants or their spouses can apply for grants ranging from 250,000 to 1 million UAH. To participate in grant programs, applicants must submit an application via Diya along with a business plan.

5. Compensation for employers hiring idps

The Employment Service also provides financial support to employers who hire IDPs. Compensation is offered for three months at the monthly minimum wage (currently 8,000 UAH). If an IDP with a disability is employed, compensation is extended for six months.

Additional services from employment service partners

If the Employment Service’s services are insufficient, IDPs can turn to the Service’s partners among state and non-governmental organizations. These partners offer material, legal, and psychological assistance, help with restoring lost documents, and assist with solving other issues IDPs may face. Contact information for partner organizations can be found on the Employment Service website under the “Single Window Services” section.

These services help IDPs adapt to new circumstances, find employment, start businesses, and receive essential support during the adaptation process.
