Ukraine receives a unique collection of works about the Holodomor

Ukraine has received a unique collection of artistic works dedicated to the tragedy of the Holodomor, donated by the family of American businessman and philanthropist Morgan Williams. The collection, which has been transferred to the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide, includes more than 300 items, including paintings, engravings, posters, stamps, and documents that reflect the horrific events of that time.

Morgan Williams, who worked in the field of international agricultural development in the post-Soviet space, first visited Ukraine in the late 1980s. He fell in love with the Ukrainian land and its people. Afterward, Williams dedicated his life to studying and promoting the topic of the Holodomor. In addition, he actively encouraged other artists to create works highlighting this crime of the Soviet regime.

Morgan’s son, Deren Williams, stated that his father wanted this collection to be shown to the Ukrainian people and to the world. This was not only to honor the memory of the Holodomor victims but also to ensure that the history of these atrocities against the people serves as a reminder to the world that such horrors must never be repeated.

The Williams family hopes that this collection will serve as a reminder for future generations and continue to tell the story of the genocide of Ukrainians committed by the Soviet regime.
