Verkhovna Rada adopts new law on mental health care

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Mental Health Care System’ (No. 12030), which provides for a number of significant changes in the field of mental health care in the country.

One of the key innovations of the law is the mandatory establishment of mental health services at enterprises. According to the new legislation:

The Law also provides for the establishment of the National Commission on Mental Health. This body will monitor compliance with the requirements of the new law and coordinate activities in the field of mental health care.
