A recent survey showed that only one in ten Ukrainians regularly use reflectors when driving in the dark. This is a cause for concern, especially with the onset of winter, when the days get shorter and road conditions become more difficult.
To improve road safety, UNICEF and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have launched a winter awareness campaign, with the main message being that reflectors are a simple and effective way to make yourself visible to drivers. The campaign encourages Ukrainians of all ages to use flickers on their clothes to protect themselves and their loved ones.
More information about winter safety can be found on the campaign’s website.
The survey was conducted by the Rating Group in October 2024 among a representative sample of the Ukrainian population.
