Features of the new children’s carriage
The children’s carriage was developed in collaboration with UNICEF to ensure maximum comfort and safety for passengers aged 0 to 8 years. The carriage is equipped with modern elements that promote child development and relaxation during the journey.
Inside, children will find a variety of educational materials, including busy boards with moving elements, interactive games, cognitive tasks, and themed compartments. This will not only make the journey more comfortable but also provide children with new knowledge and emotions during the trip.
To ensure the safety of young travelers, the carriage is equipped with special playpens for babies, increased barriers on upper bunks with shockproof padding, as well as child-friendly handrails with soft upholstery for safe movement within the carriage.
Safety and comfort
This children’s carriage was designed in accordance with all necessary safety standards. All interior elements have been created to ensure that the journey is both enjoyable and secure for children.
The project is particularly important because it supports child development in early childhood, which is critical for forming the physical, intellectual, and emotional skills that lay the foundation for future growth.
How to purchase tickets
Tickets for the new children’s carriage can only be purchased through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app. The carriage has a special marking to help passengers easily identify it on the train.
It is important to note that children up to the age of 5 can travel for free without needing a separate ticket. This further facilitates accessible travel for young passengers and their families.
Collaboration with UNICEF and support from the Belgian government
The development and implementation of this project were made possible through the collaboration of Ukrzaliznytsia with UNICEF Ukraine. In addition, significant financial support was provided by the government of Belgium. This enabled the creation of a carriage that meets high safety and comfort standards and is an important step in supporting early childhood development through access to new educational opportunities even during travel.
A new opportunity for parents and children
The new children’s carriage by Ukrzaliznytsia is an important step towards creating comfortable travel conditions for young Ukrainians. Thanks to this project, children will not only be able to travel more comfortably, but also have the opportunity to develop while learning new things during the journey.
This initiative is a crucial part of national social projects that contribute to the development of children both physically and intellectually from an early age.
