Border communities in Chernihiv region begin receiving heating allowances

In the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, financial assistance for heating has begun for border communities located within a 10-kilometer zone from the state border with the Russian Federation. These include the Horodnyanskyi, Koryukivskyi, Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivskyi, and Snovskyi communities.

This was reported by the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration. Currently, funds from the International Committee of the Red Cross have already been received by 1,232 households, with plans to assist a total of 4,293 households.

Additionally, international partners are directing aid to other communities in the region, particularly to support vulnerable populations. These households will receive solid fuel in kind or financial assistance for its purchase.

According to the information, there are over 6,000 such households, with about 4,500 located in communities bordering Russia and nearly 1,000 on the border with Belarus.

This initiative aims to support residents of border areas during the energy crisis and provide them with the necessary resources for heating during the winter months.
