Ministry of education and science of Ukraine launches the “ReFormEd” program

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announces the launch of the “ReFormEd” program — a practical internship program for professionals from various fields who wish to contribute to changes in education.

Registration and participation

Registration for the program begins on October 21 and will continue until November 3. Participating in “ReFormEd” is an opportunity not just to observe changes but to be a driving force behind them, as reforms are driven by people!

Selected candidates will begin a month of intensive work, training, and implementation of changes in Ukrainian education starting November 10. The program includes 40 hours of lectures, workshops, and practical sessions.

Opportunities for participants

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to join educational teams such as the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), the Ukrainian Institute for Education Development, the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment, the Institute for Educational Analytics, and be part of the MoES Recovery and Reform Support Team and the New Ukrainian School (NUS) Implementation Office. The goal of this collaboration is to implement the MoES strategic plan “Education of Winners.”

What participants will gain from the program:

  • An insider’s view of government policy in the field of education.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the reform of Ukrainian education.
  • Participation in projects or additional training from partners.
  • A personal project related to real educational policies for their portfolio.
  • An interactive approach: learning through participation in workshops and working groups.
  • Individual development, mentorship, and support from experts.
  • The chance to start a career in education-related public policy.

Key areas of the program

Training will occur in several areas:

  • Normative design: Development and analysis of regulatory acts in the field of education.
  • Content of education: Creation of educational programs and updating of learning materials.
  • Communications: Formulation of strategies and ensuring communication about educational reforms.
  • Educational analytics: Collection and analysis of data to support educational decisions.
  • Professional development of teachers: Building strong teacher communities and individual development trajectories for educators.
  • Management of educational projects: Comprehensive management of educational projects.

Within the framework of “ReFormEd,” participants will attend lectures by leading educational experts, engage in practical tasks, workshops, and training focused on implementing educational policies.

An individual development trajectory will be designed for each participant, and throughout the program, mentors and area leaders will provide support.
