Free training on installing solar power stations: new opportunities for veterans and women

As part of the UNDP initiative aimed at creating employment opportunities in the energy sector, a free course on installing solar power stations is being announced. This course offers a unique chance for veterans, female veterans, their family members, and civilian women to gain new knowledge and skills in the rapidly growing field of renewable energy.

Who is it for?

The training is aimed at:

  • Veterans and female veterans
  • Their family members
  • Civilian women

Participants will be selected based on criteria that include alignment with target groups, motivation, and timely application submission.

When and where?

The course will run from late October to mid-December 2024 in a remote format. There will also be a seven-day practical session in Kyiv at the “Atmosfera” academy laboratory.

What will you gain?

The course program combines theoretical and practical sessions. You will learn about:

  • Types and components of solar power stations
  • Principles of generation and equipment selection
  • Tools and gear for installation work
  • Types of mounts for different stations
  • Basic inverter settings and assembly of protection boards

The knowledge gained will assist in finding employment in the renewable energy sector, particularly in:

  • Companies involved in the installation and maintenance of solar power stations
  • NGOs focused on green energy issues
  • Starting your own business selling and installing solar power stations

Successful participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

How to apply?

Fill out the application form by October 23: Application Form. From October 24 to 25, organizers will contact the selected candidates to confirm participation and discuss details. Travel, accommodation, and meals during the in-person training will be covered by the organizers.
