Under the chairmanship of Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk, a meeting was held to discuss international humanitarian support for vulnerable populations in frontline areas. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Reintegration, the UN Cluster on Housing and Non-Food Items in Ukraine, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Red Cross Society of Ukraine (RCSU), UNICEF, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and regional military administrations.

Participants discussed the implementation status of the government resolution providing one-time cash assistance to the population during the 2024/25 heating season for the purchase of solid fuel for household stoves. This assistance will be directed to residents of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
By the end of October, it is planned to start payments from UNHCR, which will benefit over 20,000 households that have undergone identification.
Additionally, participants discussed the current state of providing the population with solid fuel from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN Cluster on Housing and Non-Food Items.
This initiative is an important step in preparing frontline areas for the winter season, ensuring that vulnerable populations have the necessary resources to endure the cold weather comfortably.
