Government support programs: banks approved UAH 8 billion in preferential loans to strengthen energy independence

In Ukraine, an active support program for businesses and individuals in the field of energy independence has been launched. From June 1 to September 30, 2024, banks received 2,484 applications for loans to finance energy equipment installation projects, totaling UAH 54.8 billion. Among these applications, UAH 7.9 billion was approved, indicating strong interest in energy-efficient technologies.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the volume of actual loans issued for energy needs of legal entities reached UAH 2 billion. In September alone, 514 applications totaling UAH 8.4 billion were submitted, of which 1,081 applications for UAH 2.7 billion received approval. A total of 220 loans were issued, amounting to UAH 1.3 billion.

Funds are being allocated for the purchase and installation of gas piston cogeneration units, the purchase of diesel and gasoline generators, as well as the construction of solar power plants. Projects are being financed in 21 regions of the country, demonstrating the broad geographical scope of implementing energy-efficient solutions.

Not only businesses but also individuals are receiving support. In September, banks issued 1,100 loans totaling UAH 133 million to individuals. The gross portfolio of loans related to energy needs currently stands at UAH 204 million.
