Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian farmers have received over 231,000 hectares of surveyed and cleared agricultural land from deminers. In September, specialists transferred more than 30,500 hectares to farmers, marking a significant achievement, as reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
“In September, deminers returned over 30,500 hectares of surveyed, cleared, or demined land back to agricultural use. This is one and a half times more than in August. Additionally, we had a historic event in September— the first auctions were held in the Prozorro system for providing demining services for agricultural land. We hope that soon the lands cleared by the auction winners will begin to contribute to the statistics of cleared territories,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

In total, since the beginning of the year, deminers have surveyed over 257,000 hectares of land. The largest areas have been surveyed in the following regions:
- Kherson Region: 26,200 hectares in September, 210,700 hectares since the beginning of the year.
- Kharkiv Region: 2,600 hectares in September, 20,100 hectares since the beginning of the year.
- Mykolaiv Region: 1,900 hectares in September, 14,000 hectares since the beginning of the year.
For humanitarian demining and emergency response in September, 71 mechanical demining machines and 684 demining teams, totaling over 4,200 specialists, were involved.
These efforts are a crucial step toward the recovery of agricultural production in Ukraine, ensuring farmers have access to safe land for their operations.
